OPUS JAY: Taipei: OMG Moment #4: Coco cops a feel and more!

On to the second night of OPUS JAY and the guest was none other than the sexy and voluptuous Coco Lee, for whom Jay has written a song for.

It was a lively and entertaining performance, made more so by Coco's cheekily flirtacious moves with Jay during the dance when they sang Dao Ma Dan  (Actress Versed In Swordplay (刀馬旦)).

C: Jay...how come you're getting more and more handsome? (Jay laughs self-consciously) All you guys...is Jay the most handsome of all? Who do you love the most? (audience yells "JAY!")
J: Aiyo!
C: I love you the most, too, do you know?
J: laughing again
C: Let me tell you...my first time was given to you.
J: Oh ho ho...(wondering what she means)
C: Yes, 'cos I heard you say something about first times with Stefanie last night...
J: No, no, no...let's forget about that...
C: Which reminded me of the first time that we....
J: First time? (still wondering what she's up to)
C: Let me clarify. It was a most unforgettable day. Very very unforgettable indeed....it was the very first time I collaborated with Jay Chou and the first time I got to know his zhong guo feng songs. 
J: Right! Aiyo...you're right! (probably feeling extremely relieved!)
J: In fact, now that we're talking about first times, you were the guest star at my very first concert! Everybody applaud! Wow! It has been 12 years! And you're as beautiful as ever...
C: Oh,...thank you! Do you say that to all your guests?
J: Oh no...every guest is different! One has become a Mum and yet looks just a lovely. And you are just as lovely after 12 years! I must say, we have not changed much and are still as young as ever, right??
C: But my status has changed...I am now a married woman...and what about you?? (looking at Jay meaningfully)..when will it be your turn??
J: I don't know...I have to sing for my fans. So I have to be more lively(?)...*starts swinging his arms awkwardly, obviously not knowing what else to say* (he looks soooo funny here...LOL!!!)
J: Now I'm working out on my fitness, I'm not talking about my single status.

NB: At this point, I have to mention that Jay's statement was a pun on the Chinese words for working out 健身(jian shen) and singlehood 单身(dan shen)...which was really witty and I applaud him for his quick thinking and recovery. :)

C: Working out?
J: Yes! I remember for my first concert, I saw that Coco had a good figure and there I was, doing pushups backstage with Will Liu as I was very skinny then but it did not make any difference then.
But now it is indeed different. *makes a strong man movement with his shoulders and assumes a strong stance*
C: I can't see your 8-pack today. Do you guys want to see his 8-pack?? I don't only want to see, I want to feel them! Can you give me a chance to feel them? Can you take off your shirt?
J: No, no, no....I already did that at the beginning and I'll catch a cold soon if I do it again. *hahaha* But you can have a feel now and see the difference between this and 12 years ago.

C: Wow! Wow! Wow! I did it! I felt them!! Wait...who wants to come up here and have a feel too??
They then walk slowly down and Jay points out a member in the audience, who looks quite pretty...and..
C: Is that your wife?
J: Oh no!!! These are all my fan-friends! You know, this is not enough.
C: You mean I can feel your abs a little more?
J: Oh no...I didn't mean that! But I feel that one song is not enough. Shall we sing together again? Try and guess what song?

OPUS JAY: Taipei: OMG Moment #3: Guess who??

This was another lovely OMG moment on the first night of OPUS JAY in Taipei, when a mysterious masked fighter emerged during The Rooftop segment....and was unveiled at the end of the Fight Dance:

Yup...it was none other than Stefanie Sun from Singapore, who has returned to the music world after having had her first child.
She was looking really svelte and Jay complimented her on how lovely she looked. There was good-natured banter between the two of them.
Jay said that she was here alone so all the guys in the audience would be happy.
Not to be outdone, Stef teased Jay about his 'single' status and Jay replied that all his female fans were his girlfriends...lol!
Jay revealed that when he first approached her to be his guest and wanted to play piano for her, Stef declined as she wanted something different and wanted to fight instead...which Jay was totally agreeable to.
She also wants him to be her guest at her concert....and Jay replied that he would also want to do a fight segment...lol!
He then suggested that she sing another song as she had apparently 'stolen' his first time (referencing when she won the GMA for Best Newcomer, instead of him many years ago).
Jay said he wanted to test her and could she sing a song from his first album?
Stef replied: "Bring it!".

OPUS JAY:Taipei: OMG Moment #2: Teresa Teng!

Yup, you heard me correctly.

Teresa Teng....THE late Teresa Teng, only like the most famous and loved Taiwanese songbird who passed away in 1995, at the relatively young age of 42 from an asthma attack. Jay was 15 at that time and would no doubt have been very familiar with her songs.

At OPUS JAY in Taipei last night, he mentioned that he often wished he could travel back 30 years in time to sing a duet with her.

Well, with the use of the latest technology (which is too complicated for this fangirl to explain here), he managed to fulfill his wish at his concert...like so:

I tell you, the first time I watched it, I could not believe my ears when he said her name.
And I thought it was special guest Stef Sun doing something again.
But of course, I soon realised it was indeed 'Teresa' herself....and decided that it had to be some form of technology which Jay had utilised.
Knowing his penchant for trying out new stuff to thrill his fans, this actually did not surprise me one bit when I read more information about this special effect.

OPUS JAY: Taipei: OMG Moment #1: SIgn Language MV!!!

Yes, my dear friends.

OPUS JAY kicked off with a bang yesterday at the Taipei Arena and of course, this fangirl was standing by her phone and laptop all ready to report on what new wonders His Royal DIAOness was going to thrill us with.....

And I was not disappointed!

News was filtering out on Facebook that the MV for Sign Language was being unveiled and pretty soon, pics were flooding my News Feed, followed by a 15-second snippet and then finally, a fancam of the whole MV.

Wow! Just. Wow!

I love it!

I love this song and the MV has certainly made my day!
I saw it the first thing when I woke up this morning and unfortunately, was caught up with errands to run and could only watch it once quickly, post it on my Facebook Page and only now settled back down to savour it more fully.

Admittedly, I was initially a little peeved that JVR did not release this simultaneously on their youtube channel; I felt it was unfair to his legions of fans who could not make it to Taipei for the concerts. But my unhappiness did not last long as I realised that he always wants to save something special for his Taipei concerts and this was one of them (the other will be covered in my next post).
I'm sure he had his reasons for this and anyway, the fancam version is good to tease us whilst we wait.

What do I love about it?
Loads!

First off, the song is one of my favourites from Opus 12 and also one of my faves to play on the piano.
I love the mood and feel of the song, including the lyrics, which are super romantic especially the last bit which says "I might as well kiss you once more"....omg!

The MV is very tastefully conceptualised and shot, with that elaborate piano, the special lighting and effects and of course, I always like to see Jay waving his beautiful hands about in various gestures like in Mine Mine and when he performs magic.
It was so cute when he fashioned the actress in the MV out of those effects...so it sets the tone that it's sort of a fantasy thing and she's not real...which I think, makes it easier for his female fans to tolerate.
It was also nice that both of them were nicely blond and complemented each other very well.
She is also a change from the usual long-haired models he usually favours.
Jay had very sweet and cute smiles in this MV and she, on her part, looked at him very lovingly, yet sweetly.
And of course, Mr Chou went shirtless, as expected...but with the interspersing shots of him fully clothed, this was just enough to tantalise us and yet not overwhelm our senses with his awesome abs and pecs. :)

I have to say that Jay Chou's MVs are never sleazy, even if they involve scantily-clad girls and he never overdoes any of the touchy-feely aspects. I like it that way.

All in, I am satisfied with the MV and now I have to decide whether to keep watching this fancam or wait for the HD official version.....

His Royal Handsomeness

His Royal DIAOness never ceases to amaze me.

Even though he has been ill, there has been much that he did prior to that which is coming out now...and he looks SOOOOO HANDSOMEEEEE!!!


For starters, I woke up this morning, the first day of September....to see this beautiful image on my Facebook News Feed, from his ads for Metersbonwe 2013's Fall/Winter collection:

After hyperventilating forever, I came to my senses and of course, HAD to Share it on my Pages and Groups.
Is he not tooo breathtakingly HOT in that outfit and those sunglasses??
At that point, there were no pics of his pants yet.
But they were bound to show up sooner or later....and voila!

Omg...I tell you, no one wears fitted pants, a leather jacket and shades like our man.
Yes, the hair was perfect too. :)

And it's also a pleasant surprise to me that my Rooftop Page is still going on, in spite of the movie having ended its run.
Of course, the restaurant helped and now it's also time to watch out for the DVD and the Golden Horse Awards nominations!

Jay just keeps on going.

I hope he is getting his strength and stamina back slowly but surely, as he also has to rehearse for OPUS JAY in Taipei in five days' time.
Gosh, there will be so much to report then!

The Rooftop Restaurant Opens! Hollywood beckons!

We all know Jay loves food and already has two restaurants which are centered around his movies viz Initial D and Secret. He uses them to house the props and other paraphernalia from the films and for The Rooftop, it has been no different.

On 29 August 2013, at 2pm, he graced the opening of The Rooftop Restaurant, together with Will Liu and Wang Shih-Chun, the three of them being the partners in this venture.

So is Hollywood really interested in collaborating with him?
Yes, I know Lorenzo di Bonaventura is probably quite influential and it sounds like a great opportunity for Jay, all other factors being taken into consideration, of course.
But he better brush up on his English....first of all, by reading this blog. ;)

Seriously, I had a grim foreboding when he was doing all that crazy travelling for The Rooftop promos/premieres plus concerts, that all of it would take a toll him.
Then he had that flu thing where he lost his voice and needed steroid injections, possibly antibiotics and probably painkillers after that for his AS.
All of those most likely affected his digestive system, resulting in gastroenteritis and diarrhoea and weight loss.
In a nutshell, his body was telling him: Enough is enough, Jay!
However, the good thing is that all these happened during his break and not in the midst of a full concert schedule, whence he might have had to cancel or defer.

Jay appeared a little rundown and haggard but he was still all smiles and togged out in a very cute and colourful  outfit, with rolled-up pants! We hardly ever see his ankles so this was doubly interesting....lol!
Methinks he looked like a true Rooftopper. :)

And friends like JJ Lin also dropped by! JJ said he had also previously suffered from gastric problems and could empathise.

My poor Jay!

It seems he had been ill recently, both with a stomach bug and a flare-up of his ankylosing spondylitis.

He talked about this at the Kaspersky event:

Translation for what Jay said, for the benefit of his non-Chinese fans:

"I had a bout of gastroenteritis and my AS (ankylosing spondylitis) flared up. All these ailments came together. I'm now at my lowest weight (59kg) since my debut.
It's been five days; I'm eating more now. I had diarrhoea but no vomiting. I'm feeling better. If not, it would have been difficult to attend this event.

Regarding my AS:
I think many people don't understand it.
When it acts up, my movements are as slow as an 80-year-old.
I cannot turn properly whilst lying down in bed and I even need a helping hand to go to the toilet. It's very painful.
There is no cure for this condition.
When it's in remission, I can do everything normally, run, jump, play basketball.
So when you see me moving in a strange manner, you'll know: it's happening again."

It was heartbreaking watching him walk so slowly in the vid. :(
But he was still a trouper, making the effort to attend that event (after all, he is a spokesperson!) for Kaspersky.

He also did a fashion shoot for Metersbonwe in Beijing before returning to Taipei to grace the 7th birthday celebration of his fashion store, PHANTACi.
Hmm...those blue shades took me a while to get used to but ya, they are really cool, after all!
His jeans are a tad baggy but still, he looks good, if a little skinny.
