Diaoness Updates: Mentor, Movie, MV and more.

Loads to update since the last post.
Here goes!

MENTOR

Jay Chou has been in demand....as a guest/judge on various reality shows in China.

It started with The Brain.
Next was The Great Magician.
And of course producers would kill to get him for a singing talent show, of which there have been at least three or four in China over the past few years.
However, he had always declined, citing reasons such as being not mature enough to having too busy a schedule.

But it looks like he is now ready to get involved, according to reports and updates from The Voice Of China:

http://xin.msn.com/en-sg/entertainment/celebrity/jay-chou-will-be-a-mentor-in-the-voice-of-china/ar-AA8KEv4

"Taiwanese multi-hyphenate Jay Chou accepted the offer to go on the new season of Chinese singing programme, The Voice of China, as a mentor, making it his first appearance on a reality singing programme in his career. He would also be the youngest mentor on the show.
Earlier in 2012, the 36-year-old had received love calls from the show’s producers before the its debut. However, Jay turned down the offer, citing reasons like ‘being stringent when considering offers from a music competition programme’ and ‘would only consider the offer when he is more mature’. Jay was also tied down with a busy schedule then.
However, Jay frankly spoke about his thoughts of the show recently. “I have always been watching this show closely as many of the mentors on the show are my close friends. Their excellent performance on the show has led me to have confidence in the show.”
It was also speculated that A-Mei, a mentor on the second season of the show, kept in close contact with Jay and was essential in his decision to accept the offer this time.
Jay is expected to be paid NT$7.5 million (approximated S$320,000) for each episode of the show, racking up a total of NT$110 million (approximately S$4.719 million) from filming for three months.
When asked about his thoughts on being a mentor, Jay replied, “I believe it is important to perform on a good stage to find your muse. The entertainment industry is increasingly trying and it is very difficult for newbies to stand out from the rest now. Thus, I hope I would be able to discover newbies with potential and help them to become successful.”
Apart from Jay, it was also rumoured that other distinguished singers like Jonathan Lee, Jacky Cheung and Leehom Wang were also invited as mentors for this season."
As expected, this news was greeted with elation by fans who are looking forward to seeing him in action on television every week, imparting his words of wisdom in his own DIAO way.
Note that he would be the youngest ever mentor so far.
What a feather in his cap!.
Haha...I hear fans are also signing up for the show in order to get a chance to meet and be mentored by him!

MOVIE

Jay gave a phone interview from the London set of Now You See Me: The Second Act, which was uploaded on youtube:

Nutshell translation:
"He may write a new song for the movie or use one of his own.
More importantly, he is relishing the chance to experience the movie-making process again and learn more about magic and directing.
He plays a supporting role as the owner of a shop selling magic props.
However, he is not very customer-friendly.
Hopefully, the audience will enjoy his performance."

Haha,,,I loved the first NYSE movie and am already very excited about the sequel.
Jay being in it, is of course, the icing on the cake!
Looking forward to June 2016!

MV

The official MV for Listen To Dad was released last night in true JVR style, at midnight.
Worth waiting for!

Jay looks and sounds awesome and it was so nice to see Yuhao in action again!
Not to mention that the director of this MV was none other than dear Du Ge, Jay's longtime makeup artiste and go-to guy for many roles in his MVs and movies.

More about a competition

An inter-school competition with the winner getting a chance to sign on with JVR and work with Jay!

I'm not at all surprised that he has chosen this course of action.
Jay respects his elders in the industry greatly and keeping the guest list as such would lend the event more propriety and dignity.
Well done, Jay and Hannah!

And a cute pic to round off this post. :)
