I just want to say:

Birthday plans on Jay Chou Diaoness

Hi all.

Okay, here are the plans for our online birthday parties for Jay here and on Facebook.

1. Here on Jay Chou Diaoness, I shall start a post on 18 January, entitled Happy 35th Birthday, Jay Chou!
Anyone can then write your wishes and greetings in Comments, perhaps also including some details about which part of the world you are from and how long you have been his fan.
I shall then forward the link to JVR when all the comments are in and hopefully, Jay will get to read what has been posted.
I hope everyone will join in here as that would then leave a nice long thread of comments to send to him.

2. Those of you who are on Facebook would already know about my Page and the birthday event that I set up.

If not, do follow this link and join in the fun!
You can post messages or vids on the Wall.
I shall also forward that link to JVR.

And don't forget:

Those on Facebook, come 18 January, please change your Profile pic to this cute photo.
We want to flood Facebook with this to show our solidarity as Jay fans!

Keep watching out for any more updates!

And a beautiful smile to end this post....omg.... *swoon*

DIAOness Updates: Jaymobile, MV, Mr J Prank and Huang Junlang/Jayannah!

Hi all!

Oh my....I have LOADS to update in today's post, so here goes:

                                                          ***********

Remember Jay posing with the replica Batmobile in KL a few days ago??
Well, he managed to persuade the store owner to sell it to him!
I wonder where he will display it....anyone would like to make a guess?

Link to news article:
http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2014/01/08/Jay-Chou-to-get-a-Batmobile/

I just love this pic of him so I shall post it again.
And yes, I have hereby christened the car, The Jaymobile!

                                                                           *********

JVR released the MV for Train of Four Seasons on 9 January!
It being the last song from OPUS 12 to have an MV, I think most fans were just happy to have a vid, even if it was a compilation of OPUS JAY moments.
Jay had previously mentioned that he definitely wanted to make an MV for ALL the songs, including this one but it's obvious that time and budget constraints dictated otherwise.
Anyway, I feel that considering the fact that he has already done SO MUCH work on all the other eleven songs, this was understandable and it was really nice seeing all those OPUS JAY performances in the MV.
It brought back great memories of his concert for many fans and whetted the appetites of those who had not gone for one yet and were hoping to.

Here is the MV...enjoy!

                                                                     **********

Heh....see that package below and who it's addressed to?
Well, the young lady in the post office did a double take when I handed it to her as her eyes lit up with recognition when she saw the name.
I have to confess that I did not think of sending Jay a birthday present until a few days into the new year.
But that's another story and before I knew it, my friend Irene and I had put together a few things which we felt were meaningful for him and decided to send them off with a wing and a prayer.
Of course he may never even get to see what we got him but I shall choose to remain optimistic and will not lose heart even if I have no idea at all about him receiving it.
I did send an email to JVR, though.
Let's wait and see.

                                                                        **********

Remember Mr J Life and the series of Punk'd-like pranks which Jay played on his friends and recorded for posterity?
Well, Episode 8 was released last night and in this one, it was Xuegao (aka Ice Cream), Jay's other main choreographer who had to 'suffer' Mr Chou's cheeky antics.
I'm proud to say that Xuegao behaved most professionally and came out of it with his humour and good nature still intact. :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WInIv8f42o

There was a request for some translations.

Essentially, at the beginning of the clip, XG 'announces' that Dao Xiang is an inspirational song and Jay concurs.
Little does XG know what is in store for him!
He follows Jay up on to the stage.....and then realises that nobody else went up with him...
He has to dance alone, all the while wondering what the **** is going on.
He keeps turning his head to look backstage but of course, no one joins him.
XG keeps dancing....solo, whilst Jay just sings and does his thing. ;)
The subtitle at 0:49 say: He has fallen totally into Jay's 'trap'....lol!
It's really funny 'cos there are usually no backup dancers when Jay sings this song!

At 1:32 onwards:

X: "This is the first time I'm taking off my shirt to show you that this is the most I have perspired for any performance!
Previously, after two songs, I still did not sweat that much. But today, I am drenched in perspiration because I ended up doing an extra dance."
Jay then bestows a scarf on him as a 'prize'.

At 1:55:

J: He looked back about 8 times. It was all I could do to keep from laughing when I started singing.
X: Jay was very cool. I was afraid he would turn around and ask me what I was doing!
J: The funniest thing was that before the song, he was talking so much about it.
X: That's because Jay always says those words before this song!
J: (asks X): Is this song very difficult to dance solo to?
X: Very difficult!

At 3:02:
J (stifling his laughter): When you watch the clip again, take note that all his moves were the same throughout the whole song!

It turns out there were about three phones filming him....lol!
Jay's final pronouncement:

This was a successful prank!

Update:

Here's the vid of Jay and Xuegao from the audience....poor Xuegao!
But he was a real trouper and I salute him!

                                                                        *********

Huang Junlang's new book was launched yesterday and Jay, Vincent and Gary were in attendance.

Link to the news article translated on Jay Chou Studio:
http://jaychoustudio.com/archives/jay-chou-to-settle-down-and-start-family-at-36-plans-to-spends-new-year-1314-with-hannah/1634

I'm waiting to get my copy of the book, which a kind friend helped me buy when she was in Taipei recently. :)

But THE information which sent me over the moon from that event had to be Jay's matter-of-fact replies to reporters' questions about his love life, admitting that he had seen in the New Year with Hannah and that his plans to get married were well in place.

I was also glad to note that he was not disheartened about the non-success of The Rooftop in Asia.
But that's our Jay.
He does not let stuff like that get to him and if anything, it only makes him more determined to do something more and make it work.
I hope he gets to fulfill his wish of filming in Hollywood again, too. :)

No wonder he looked so happy too....love this pic!

Love this pic of him too, which led to a lively discussion about his fashion sense....but that's a topic for another post. :)

Hope you guys enjoyed all the updates.

It's one more week to Jay's birthday.
Have you prepared your birthday greetings for him yet?

DIAOness Updates: The Rooftop, Jay in KL and Brooklee

YES!

The Wall Street Journal has included The Rooftop in its list of Asia's Most Notable Films in 2013!

http://blogs.wsj.com/scene/2014/01/02/asias-most-notable-films-of-2013/

Thank you, WSJ for your ability to recognise and appreciate a vibrant and original movie which its home audience could not.

***********

Jay was in KL from 4 to 6 January to shoot a Sprite commercial and whilst he was there, the fanboy in him just could not resist going once again to his favourite DC Store in Pavilion Mall and posing for a photo with the Batmobile...which everyone is suspecting may soon become a Jaymobile....lol!

Doesn't he look so utterly cool and DIAO???

There was a weibo post:

Jay: Mom, where's the birthday present you promised? I'm forever a kid.

This man is definitely a child at heart. :)

Here is the link to the album on JCD:

Lastly, remember Brooklee Han, the young Australian skater who dazzled with her performance set to Jay's music from Secret?

http://jaychoudiaoness.blogspot.sg/2013/11/diaoness-on-ice-brooklee-han.html

Well, I am very pleased to announce that she has indeed been selected to represent her home country at the Winter Olympics in Sochi in February!

http://sochi2014.olympics.com.au/news/han-selected-for-figure-skating-in-sochi

I understand that she will continue to use Jay's music for the Olympics (YES!!!) and we wish her all the very best in this exciting year!

Till my next post....cheerio!

Plans for Jay's birthday

It is less than two weeks to His Royal DIAOness' 35th birthday and already, I have joined five Events on Facebook set up in honour of his big day.

I have also created my own and am having loads of fun managing it. :)
I do hope all of you will connect up and join in the fun!

https://www.facebook.com/events/568596513231727/571303769627668/?notif_t=like

Some interesting posts I shared were about Jay's star sign and Chinese zodiac animal.

http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/capricornmanlove.html

Jay's star sign is Capricorn and as shown in the above link, he does have many of the qualities associated with this sign.
I only disagree with the part about fashion....lol!
Other than that, the descriptions are mostly spot-on!
See if you agree.

"1. A Capricorn man is known, for good reason, as the overachieving workaholic of the zodiac.

2. The Capricorn man treats love seriously. He is not a flirt, nor a player. He believes in true love and will wait patiently for it, and when finding it, will work hard to keep it.

3. The Capricorn man cherishes his close relationships and provides a logical resolve to any problem he's asked to become involved in. This man will never steer his friends wrong and will be there supporting his partner through life.

4. Capricorn men are not typically big fans of PDA (public displays of affection) and very much prefer to keep their personal lives on the private side. Any partner of his should know not to gossip about him, argue in public, or otherwise attract negative attention.

5. The Capricorn man will usually be a staunch, attractive individual in his own way, who walks with an air of confidence, even if he is not always feeling that way. He takes care of himself and can be a fan of diets, healthy eating, and exercise."

Jay's Chinese zodiac animal is the horse.

vizhttp://www.hanban.com/chinese-culture/chinese-zodiac/chinese-zodiac-sign-horse.html

"A summary of prevalent symbol meanings for the horse: Power; Grace; Beauty; Nobility; Strength; Freedom. Horses are also extremely healthful, probably since they keep a positive outlook on life and simply because they’re athletic."

I also hope that all of Jay's fans will change their Profile pic to a Jay birthday pic on 18 January so that we can flood Facebook with the same images and show our solidarity as fans.

So do come along for the ride as we head towards 18 January 2014 as I'm pretty sure Jay will see all the Facebook events and Pages or if not, his staff and friends will make sure he does!

And yes, I am sending him a card/gift with my friend.

Are you? :)

Jay Chou on The Brain 最强大脑

Remember my post about Jay appearing on a gameshow known as The Brain a month ago?
He recorded it in mid-December and it was finally broadcast on 3 January (last night), with fans able to watch it online from Jiangsu.

Every fan I knew on Facebook was happily anticipating it and if you had followed me on the Jay Chou Diaoness Facebook Page, you would have gotten my frequent posts and updates as showtime approached.

I was able to tune in online at 10pm and was gleefully following the proceedings when a new update on my News Feed (yes, I am a compulsive News Feed checker.....how else would I keep on top of all that Jay does??) showed a youtube link to what appeared to be the FULL and OFFICIAL version of the show!

Pleasantly surprised, I scrolled through the vid and once I had ascertained that it was indeed the complete show, I decided to relax and went to do some other stuff, but only after I had posted the link on my Page and other places.

It was quite unexpected but I suppose the Jiangsu TV management decided it was way better to upload their own good quality version for the fans than to let some other youtubers put their own up.
And we fans definitely appreciated this and as of this morning, many Pages and Groups were still Sharing the vid.

Here is the link to the vid:

A translated article from Jay Chou Studio about the show:

Thoughts on The Brain

Prior to the show, I really had no idea what it was exactly about; just that Jay would be in it as an 'Assistant Professor' or something.

Anyway, when his name was announced and he went on stage together with the Mr Lee Yanhong, CEO of Baidu, the screams and cheers which ensued left no doubt who was the star attraction. The girls were practically hysterical!
Frankly, I would be too.
Us fans watching online were also going bonkers. ;)

Simply put, all the contestants each had their own 'brain powers' for various tasks and they were judged on their abilities and the degree of difficulties of the tasks, which, in a nutshell, included discerning patterns, sounds, laser patterns and identifying faces.

Jay and Mr Lee were sort of the honorary judges but they did not play a part in giving the contestants points.
They helped in setting the tasks for the contestants, though and Jay showed off a little of his aural prowess by identifying piano notes, something which was to be expected of him.
He was quite personable and witty with his comments and replies, never forgetting to use his Ting Ma Ma De Hua to good effect (twice!) and as the contestants were also his fans, he ended up hugging three of them at the end of their rounds, to their utter delight and that of the audience.
I'm sure that made up for the fact that they were NOT the winner.
I mean....how many fans get to hug Jay Chou????

Lol...it's quite amusing but totally understandable why Jay is so loveable and huggable. :))

Here is the link to more photos on Jay Chou Diaoness Page:

And some of Jay's best and funniest expressions!
That puffer-fish-face really makes me laugh!

Now to get back to planning what to do for Jay's birthday....

A most eventful year for Jay in 2013, full of beautiful photos of him to share.

I had a hard time compiling and trust me, there are loads more.
But I had to pick them and here they are!

Jay was intending to cook for his family on New Year's Eve...wonder what dishes he came up with this time!

Jay and his gym team wish everyone a Happy New Year!

And Jay Chou Diaoness wishes one and all a wonderful Jay-ful year ahead too!
